A Northern Kentucky University advertising and promotion class recently partnered with St. Xavier Church in downtown Cincinnati to help the church develop a new visual identity, improve communication vehicles and enhance its public relations programs to attract new and young parishioners and highlight the church’s long and storied history.

"Every semester I have my students work on a group project/marketing challenge for a local not-for-profit organization as a way to fulfill the NKU Haile/US Bank College of Business mission of giving back to the community via practical application of knowledge," said Mark Komanecky, who teaches the undergraduate class.

"In the past, the class has done work for Brighton Center, Redwood and St. Xavier Church. In most cases, the students’ work has been incorporated into the organizations’ marketing plans. St. Xavier Church, in downtown Cincinnati, is no exception. In this case, though, the recommendations of the students were not only implemented almost immediately but also served as a foundation from which the organization built."
