Five Cincinnatians have been named by the local Rotary Club as Jefferson Award finalists, for their dedication to nonprofit work in the Tri-State.
The Jefferson Award finalists and the organizations they serve are:
• Dick Bere, Crayons to Computers;
• Barbara Condo, One Way Farm;
• Ronald Dumas, Reaching Out for Kids Inc.;
• Judith Harmony, Harmony Project and Harmony Garden;
• Cynthia Herrick, Clifton Cultural Arts Center.
The Rotary Club of Cincinnati will announce the local winner at its meeting March 19, 12 p.m., at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza. The winner will travel to Washington, D.C., this summer to represent Cincinnati at the American Institute of Public Service’s national awards banquet.
The Jefferson Award for public service was created in 1972 by Sen. Robert Taft, a Cincinnati native, and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. It is presented annually in more than 90 U.S. cities.
